John Schmeling

BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Knox County, Indiana, Mr. Schmeling, began his behavioral health career in 2004 with Good Samaritan as a supported employment specialist for the Samaritan Center's Assertive Community Treatment team.  He left in 2008 to pursue a graduate degree at St. Louis University where he completed a Master of Social Work, along with graduate certificates in Community Mental Health and Geriatrics. The son of a 30 year veteran of the United States military, Mr. Schmeling has a special interest in working with the veteran population.  During his free time he enjoys home renovation, open fire cooking, and travel with his wife and children.

Specialization

John provides care for those 18 and older for individual therapy​ primarily in Samaritan Center's Daviess and Pike county offices. He has advanced training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD, CBT for Chronic Pain Management, Critical Incident Stress Management, and Motivational Interviewing.
